help! My car has dropped more then a pound of boost. I barely read 3 1/2 pounds now. This happened after my car was running rough. I changed out the sparkplugs and it fixed the rough idle, but a day later my boost dropped. I checked the belts and retightened them, but it didn't help. Any ideas. Also, is it true you can mix methanol with water for the aqua cooling system? Does this help? Also, I want to upgrade the boost, where can I get the pulley up grade? What size fuel injectors should I buy and do I need an MSD?

Whats the car "feel" like? Does it feel like its lost boost? May have a bad gauge, hole in boost gauge line, or the supercharger to manifold area may have a leak where you hafta squirt that "make a gasket" stuff on the joing areas. Just guess's...

P.S. May wanna check your by-pass valve also for operation

Just some more thoughts....
Really hot days can cause the density altitude to rise, and Barometeric pressure to fall which will lead to lower boost levels. Our boost gauge is a manifold barometer, and these blowers only add a specific amount of pressure to what is already available in the air. I tend to see a 1.5 psi fluctuation throughout the year (summer-winter 100F vs. 40F).
At 6000ft elevations in Colorado I was seeing a 2.5 psi drop compared to sea level. 3.5 versus 6psi.

Thanks guys,
I know it can't be the boost gauge. I have the water cooler which activates by boost. It was set to 4 1/2 pounds. So when the boost dropped the water injection quit working. I had to adjust to 3 1/2 pounds. It is hotter here in Florida, maybe it is the heat or maybe I do have a leak between the supercharger and the mainfold.

Check for a problem with the bypass valve... also for vaccuum leaks. Typically, the latter will create a poor idle.
As for the boost upgrade... I know a guy who makes a really bitchin' stepper pulley for the "R". Call me at the shop for more info.
